5// A tad bit delayed, but here it is!

WELL! I am doing very badly with this whole blogging thing thus far! I do, however, have an excuse, sort of! Our internet here is fully crap and cuts out all the time--super dodgy! So hopefully it will last while I try to write this post!

Let's see, I'll try to cover the basic bases.

I'm living in a restored hostel that YWAM bought many years back called Lewis House. There are 80 of us living here (DTS and STS students, and also staffers)! My room is about 10x10 and I have 3 other roommates! There are 18 of us on my DTS team, made up of 15 girls and 3 guys. They're a bit outnumbered! Our school leaders are super awesome and I am learning so much already! My day starts at about 5:30am every morning and ends every night at about midnight, so I'm a little tired most of the time! We have about 6 hours of lectures Tuesday-Friday, work duty shifts every afternoon, and lots of work around the house, too! We DTS experienced our first Youth Street program on Saturday night and it was absolutely amazing. We had heaps of youth show up and at the end of the evening we bused everyone over the the Compassion International Australia Headquarters for a really amazing event called Not For Sale. It's an anti-slavery movement and if you haven't heard of it before you should totally check it out at notforsalecampaign.org or slaverymap.org to find out about human trafficking and how you can take action!!!

That's about all I have time for right now and all I will probably be able to post this week because we are heading out for a camping trip tomorrow and will be gone at Tahlee through Friday evening!

I will try to be a lot better about posting, though and hopefully will have something new on the weekend!

Lots of love and God Bless, everyone!
Thanks again for all of your prayers!

Christy:)

  1. Sounds awesome!!! Can't wait to hear more about what God is doing. Compassion Int is one of my favorite organizations and I'm glad to hear people (youth) are being exposed to the truth about our world and issues that impact us all. Praying for you!
