8// A Few More Days..

Well I am currently hanging out in the dining hall with a bunch of people from the base. The room has been converted into a den for the day for the purpose of watching the footie games on today. There is an ample supply of Bundy Ginger Beer, Solo, and Tim Tams. It's about 20 degrees Celsius today and rainy..perfect sulky weather for the sulky attitudes of all of us on DTS. This morning, at 4 AM, one of the outreach teams left, leaving us 3 comrades short. Today is the last weekend/day off for the rest of us before we head out for our various other outreach locations in different areas (Melbourne, AUS and Taumaranui, NZ..in addition to my team in Mount Hagen, PNG). Starting tomorrow we have 2 intense days of preparation before heading out of here at 3 AM for the Sydney airport. Our DTS leader, David, also left this morning for his brother's wedding back in the States. I've been feeling pretty emotional these last few days..I hadn't realized how close I've gotten to all of these people in the last three months, but they have really become family to me.

Last week was 5DE or 5 Day Escape, the school holidays camp we run for the Youth Street crew every Spring holidays. Monday morning we left the warehouse in a double decker bus and 2 vans full of crew/students and staff. After the 12 hour drive up to The Gold Coast in Queensland we made it up to Koonjewarre where we met up with the crew and staff from Townsville, QLD. Total we had 106 crew and 52 staff! While we were there we were split into teams sort of Survivor style for games all week long. Some of the highlights were outdoor laser skirmish, the superhero dance party, and a trip to DreamWorld (like Six Flags)! On Thursday night we had an amazing time of ministry where we presented the gospel and had a time of worship that went over by 2 hours..the night finally ended at 12:30 AM for the crew, and those of us on the worship team got to bed at around 2:30 AM due to having to pack down the stage afterwards. I think over the course of the whole week I got about 16 hours of sleep. The best part, though? We had 19 first time salvations, and 60 crew recommitted their lives to Christ!

Hi this is Christy's leader, and I think she is heaps cool, butt. I'm so excited to have her on outreach and to go CRAZZZZZZZZYYYYYY!)

Hahaha, that was from Ashley, my outreach leader!

ANYWAY, I'd probably better scurry along now and work on some packing, otherwise I might not ever get anything done. I think it's pretty safe to say that this has been the CRAZIEST and LOUDEST Sunday afternoon on the base EVER. Whhhatt the heck!?!!?

Okay, well I love you all and I will hopefully be posting again before leaving!
